A warm thank you for 2015
Thank you to all involved in the 27th Pinmar Golf for your great support and participation.
We had good weather for the entire weekend with another wonderful three days of golfing networking and socialising, bringing friends, colleagues, yacht crews and the wider superyacht industry together in a fun but competitive golfing environment, with two spectacular evenings, The Friday Night Party sponsored and hosted by Bond TM and the Prize-giving and Gala Dinner sponsored by Awlgrip for the 16th year and the new After Party at Pacha sponsored by Jotun.
We also raised another impressive sum for the Pinmar Golf Charity Fund along the way.
Since last year’s change to just two days of actual golf was so well received, we naturally decided to stick with it this year, although with additional marshals in order to help everyone get round on time. It certainly seemed to work well and it again produced a fantastic response. We have had dozens of positive emails which make all the effort very worthwhile.
A total of 82 teams took to the challenging Son Gual course with the keenly contested golf culminating in the Prize-giving ceremony at the imposing amphitheatre of Pueblo Español. The Winners of the Pinmar Trophy for Best Yacht Nett were Mylin IV, another new name on the trophy so many congratulations to them, and the other major trophy winners included the Tatasu Turfcutters, Modesty Yacht Carpentry, David Store Navigational Management, Is a Rose and Sally Aston of Döhle Yachts.
Thanks as always to the collective generosity of all who participated; the golfers, their friends and guests and our generous sponsors and hard-working volunteers, we raised another €65,000 for the Pinmar Golf Charity Fund which takes our total over our 27 years to over €760,000.
The hire of buggies, golf clubs and trolleys, along with the bars on the course and the terrace and the lunch in the clubhouse, helped to raise nearly €25,000 over the two days. The brilliant teams selling raffle tickets over all three days raised a very impressive €16,000.
Huge thanks to you all for buying so many tickets and also to everyone who bid so generously in the silent and live auctions and to Jotun for a very generous donation of €10,000. And also to Alan Dale of Burgess and the International Yacht Brokers Charity Golfers Association who once again very kindly decided to add their total of over €6,000 to our fund. As always the funds will be shared across a wide range of causes both here and abroad including: Joves Navegants, Handisports, Tyume Valley Schools, Allen Graham 4 Kidz, Sail 4 Cancer, Serve-on and many more.
A very big thank you to our still photographers, Dave Page, Simon Williams, Susan Barwood, Zuzana Nanova, Toni Dominguez, Ben Sturge, Lilian Wurm and also Vicky Verity for her help with the team photos and also to our video photographers Alejandro Dioscorides, of Yachts XL and Paul Miller of Palma Multimedia.
Huge thanks again to all golfers, guests, sponsors and volunteers for your fantastic support and generosity. We very much hope you will be able to join us for another successful event this year, we have a lot in store for you with new exciting ideas, we will also be welcoming back a dinner show and a new venue for Friday night, and Pete Tong will DJ at Pacha, it’s not to be missed this year!
Best regards,
Remy, Nick and Eva
